At Dresscode, we are dedicated to designing and manufacturing uniforms with a lasting life and timeless style, making sustainable choices in each stage of our process to contribute to our overall commitment.

Sourcing

Dresscode continues to strive for a reduced carbon footprint, with our tailoring fabrics always being sourced in the UK, and softer fabrics from Europe.

We work with a range of suppliers that incorporate responsible sourcing, waste and resource management into their business. These include one of the few remaining vertical woolen mills in the UK, which means the whole manufacturing process is overseen at one site, to exacting standards.

Fabric

Wool is a very important fabric that we use for tailoring, and possesses many naturally-occurring properties which are less harmful to the environment, such as being 100% biodegradable and renewable. Its strong ability to insulate as well as being naturally fire-resistant are also valuable factors when considering fabrics in our designs for clients.

Dresscode also works with suppliers that are OEKO-TEX and BCI-certified, and we often use other naturally-derived materials such as viscose and cotton. In addition to this, we consider greener alternatives all the way to the details, like offering “corozo” buttons made from the corozo nut, which are durable and a biodegradable substitute to plastic.

Production

We’re proud to design and manufacture in London, driving localism and the importance of ethical manufacturing. This enables us to oversee every stage of the production process and consistently conduct quality checks for garment durability and longevity.

As Dresscode is based in London, we’re able to provide efficient services and quick turnarounds, delivering our products in a timely manner. We aim to schedule group pick-ups when sending packages, and use reputable couriers that work towards reducing carbon emissions. Our team also uses public transport when travelling to meetings and clients, delivering uniforms by hand when necessary.

Packaging

At Dresscode we aim to cover all areas of the business when it comes to sustainable practices. Whilst packaging our products to clients, we use optimal package sizing and efficiently group items going to the same location together to maximise efficiency and minimise the use of excess resources. Dresscode mainly uses paper-based packaging when carefully wrapping the products, ensuring that each uniform item is protected in transit. When assembling boxes, we use recyclable tape made from renewable resources.

Uniform Maintenance

A key part of Dresscode’s approach to sustainability is driving circular practices, particularly when prolonging the life of each garment. To support this, we extend our services and expertise to clients beyond the initial uniform launch. Offering a timely repair service, this keeps the uniform in use as long as possible which, in turn, reduces waste and saves resources. We also offer advice on garment care, to help clients look after their uniform and give it a long life.

Taking circularity one step further, we also donate old uniforms that are no longer required by clients to charity, and are proud to continue extending our uniform’s lifecycle.

We’re a London-based bespoke uniform company, dedicated to designing and manufacturing luxury garments in the UK since 2016 for high-end hospitality and corporate clients. Whether it’s Fully Bespoke or Semi-bespoke, at Dresscode Uniforms we create modern and practical solutions that are tailored to your brand.
