Menswear Tailoring Trends
Today’s tailoring trends are less suited-and-booted than suited-and-sneakered. The new suits are an elevated, luxe version of the streetwear styles men already know. Here are a few key trends for 2019.
Dressed down : The ultimate SS19 vibe is to kill the idea that a suit is uncomfortable. Men are favouring a more casual dress code & are going for something that looks smart but feels relaxed. Think white tee & trainers instead of the classic shirt & tie attire.
Mix & Match : A statement blazer with staple black trousers have become a popular combination The key is to mix up hues & texture for an interesting look.
Double Breasted : A classic style still very much present despite the rise of oversized / low buttons blazers.
Oversized : The 80’s are making a comeback as seen on the catwalks for this season. It’s not just a case of sizing up when buying a suit, be on the look out for a tailoring cut with a relaxed fit to retain some sartorial slant.
Pastel shades : They always come back during spring / summer but this year in particular, pink is the one to shine. The searches for “pink suits” have risen from 3600% on the pupular shopping app Liketoknow
Grid print : Checked prints are nothing new, in SS19 though we see a larger & more contemporary grid print lead the way.
Chocolate / Camel : Theyre the new go - to shades dethroning navy & black
